Riders faced early morning delays on the rails Thursday morning after a woman was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Delaware County.
Police said a female was struck by an Amtrak work train between the Glenolden and Folcroft stations just after 4 a.m.
It is unclear why the victim was on the tracks. Two workers were aboard the train at the time of the accident, but no additional injuries were reported.
Train traffic was brought to the halt while authorities investigated the incident. Both SEPTA and Amtrak lines faced delays while the scene was cleared.
Officials said all trains were up and running as of 8 a.m.
