I've had an unopened dozen carton of eggs in my fridge
for 2 weeks. The reason being I want to use up the eggs
that are in my egg storage bin first rather than mix the
old with the new. Had question marks above my head
about that dozen eggs still in the carton and whether
they could be problematic. At the mega mart I always
shop at I confronted an asst manager of the store who
just happened to be standing in front of the eggs.
I asked if any of the eggs in this store have been recalled.
He smiled with pride and said no but did mention the
smucks who shop at Safeway and the Lucerne brand
name do have something to worry about. Although
I hate the store membership card that you present
everytime you go through the checkout line, it's a
double edged sword really. One they track everything
you buy and your buying habits. The other side of the
sword is that if an item you bought recently is recalled
because of a dangerous outbreak of health issues,
they have a record of who purchased said products.
I'm not exactly sure how they would notify me as
I've never recieved a phone call or an email from said
mega mart but they might have my info to do so.
Mrs Krink was very liberal with family information.
Just glad to use those dozen eggs up without fear.

The only safe food is dead food according to the FDA.

The egg thing is just another step toward the FDA's goals.

FDA exploits salmonella eggs recall to pursue food sterilization agenda

Maybe I'm supposed to enlighten you's people. I'm in
the same boat. I do have ways around it but for how
long is a ? Every year the seeds for your garden come out
in Jan-Feb. The (consumer) seed companies are very aware
of the trends and try as they can to offer up seeds like in
the past. Hybrid seeds are one thing but the GMO thing is an
entirely different thing. I forsee a battle from the govt with
traditional seed suppliers. They will put them out of business
somehow or make it illegal to grow your own food. The
endtimes are not going to be pleasant. I hate the bastards
responsible for dreaming up this nightmare.

Krink,   You should just let a small portion of your crops go to seed every year then you wouldn't have too wonder if the current years batch has been upgraded by the Companies supplying them...

Maybe you read or heard the story of this gigantic seed storage
facility in Norway, a tunnel/cave into a sealable vault, where seeds
for every living plant on earth is now stored. The premise being if
the earth is destroyed either by war or a space event (they didn't
specifically address Monsato's efforts to destroy the earth's food
supply but I'm sure it's the same as world disaster). I'm very savy
when it comes to saving seed. Got numerous books on the subject
and have practiced it over the years. Gardeners are always enticed
by the new hybrid varieties and this has been going for a long time
to which tracking down non-hybrid seeds takes some effort.
Saving seed from hybrids is not recommended because you never
know what you're going to get. Another issue to saving seed is having
a garden big enough and planting those extra few plants of every
variety, that don't get eaten. It's a discipline for a gardener. Try
letting cabbage go to seed, I think it takes 2 years. Sweet corn in
GPNW, the weather is so lousy in fall/winter that any corn still
standing is most likely to mold or rot. Now in the midwest, corn
dries nicely by late September. Carrots is another 2 year deal.
I do have my "vault" so to speak of emergency organic seeds
sealed in #10 cans. Just never know what the future holds for us.
Doesn't have to be a disaster, it could be govt regulations or new
laws that put a stop to things.

The fast food industry is so prominent in most peoples lives
that now there is a push to offer an "antidote" pill to
counteract what you've just ate. What's wrong with this
picture?

Statin drugs may soon be given to fast food customers with meals

Letting the FDA decide anything is a kiss of death.
They are notorious for reversing their decisions
after people die or get very sick.

I know I had to "narrow down" my list of favorites.
Still the best way to get the best food is to grow it
yourself. You know "who" grew it. Your know what
was/wasn't sprayed on it. You pick it and and eat it
or you preserve it with clean water and a dash of salt
for the veggies, organic sugar for the fruits.
