As Independence Day this year falls on a Sunday, major railroads represented by the National Carriers Conference Committee will observe July 5 as the formal holiday for pay purposes.
This follows provisions in the national rail agreement in force.
Railroads represented by the NCCC include BNSF, CSX, Kansas City Southern, Norfolk Southern, Union Pacific.
Employees of other carriers should direct questions to their employers regarding the date of observance, for pay purposes, of Independence Day.
