NMB re-issues final rule regarding representation election procedure
(The National Mediation Board issued the following on July 1, 2010.)
WASHINGTON, D.C. Effective today, the Boards voting procedures for representation elections will change to add a No option and to provide that the majority of votes-cast will determine the outcome of an election.
The new procedure will only apply to applications received on or after July 1, 2010. Relevant references on the NMB website will be updated to reflect the changes in the near future.
Previously the National Mediation Board (NMB) had published its final rule in the Federal Register regarding its Representation Election Procedure on May 11, 2010. Due to litigation however, the effective date of the rule change was changed to July 1, 2010.
