SILVER LAKE, Kan. Union Pacific crews have been working to clean up mounds of coal that spilled in northeast Kansas when 43 rail cars derailed.
Authorities said no injuries were reported in the wreck, which occurred Saturday evening north of Silver Lake in Shawnee County.
Union Pacific spokesman Mark Davis said Sunday the train was heading to southeast Missouri from Wyoming when 43 rail cars derailed near a crossing. He said there were 134 rail cars in the train.
Davis said crews were replacing about 1,500 feet of damaged track, and the cause of the wreck is under investigation.
He said there was no damage estimated from the wreck, and that the rail line would be opened Sunday evening. It's unclear when the spilled coal would be cleaned up.
Dorothy: [has just arrived in Oz, looking around and awed at the beauty and splendor] Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas any more. Dorothy: [after a pause] We must be over the rainbow! [a bubble appears in the sky and gets closer and closer. It finally lands, then turns into Glinda the Good Witch wearing a spectacular white dress and crown, holding a wand] Dorothy: [to Toto] Now I... I know we're not in Kansas!
Wizard of Oz: [in a booming voice] Step forward, Tin Man! Tin Woodsman: [terrified, steps forward] Ohhhh! Wizard of Oz: [still in a booming voice] You DARE to come to me for a heart, do you? You clinking, clanking, clattering collection of kaligenous junk!
