New NS ad campaign: "One Line, Infinite Possibilities" E-mail
Tuesday, October 19, 2010

Norfolk Southern announced Oct. 19 that is launching a  "One Line, Infinite Possibilities" advertising campaign that it says builds on its "Thoroughbred of Transportation" communications program, now in its 28th year.

CEO Wick Moorman said the tagline reflects the railroad's position as "the backbone of an integrated logistics system that makes modern life possible."

The viewer will see a message of  "service, safety, economy, sustainability, and the ways in which we connect the businesses and people who depend on us."

A new television commercial, "Connects," opens the campaign and will run through the election season on various programs on the CNN and Fox News cable networks. The 30- second spot was produced by the rp3 Agency of Bethesda, Md. The "Connects" spot will be joined by print, Internet, out-of-home and social media advertisements, and a second commercial, called "Engine," beginning early in 2011.

The campaign comes at a time when special interests are pushing legislation in Congress that would effectively re-regulate the railroads in critical areas.
