Stan Mikita, arguably the greatest player in Blackhawks history, died Tuesday after a long illness. He was 78.

There are no words to describe our sadness over Stans passing, the team said in a statement. He meant so much to the Chicago Blackhawks, to the game of hockey and to all of Chicago.

A note on the text

"A Bend in the River" is set in central Africa, yet Naipaul claims he knew very little about this part of the world when I settled down to write I had travelled widely and it might have been said that there was nothing clear in my head.

Damn a sad day for all of us! Who didn't love this woman, this greatest of all Americans? Her soul, her voice, her very life was part of every music listeners favorite women. She's been right up there singing soul grabbing songs she was 14 years old!

Fourteen! Astounding! She will be missed by every one of us!

The list of awards she earned is astounding, to say the least!
