I've been there. You can watch the movie projector work inside the old train station. Good thing ya said that was a helper shoving away, I was about to make an Astute observation of a GONErail engine runnin BASSACKWARDS inta town. (with the ditchlites off)...heh heh
BTW...looks like the place somebody on a NS train knocked the brakes off, the slack ran out and the rear end went past a red eye.
I wondered how long that lens was myself, that's a good distance and the detail of how well you can see the pit and the buildings across the river at Ludlow are impressive.
We used to go across the river and get trains frequently, but the last time I was over there was a few months ago when we made a long double into the yard, got completely across the bridge. They told the conductor to stay on, he'd never been on the bridge before and he thought it was pretty neat.
We even used to pull through the yard and go on across the bridge to Ludlow to change crews, when things were congested but our favorite place to change was to pull behind the Cincinnati Union Terminal and change crews at the south end of the CUT, which is the end of LAMCO trackage rights, avoiding the yard altogether.
Back a good number of years ago, we took our power to Ludlow all the time and got power over there, too. The road crews on the Silk Stocking District used to report for duty at Ludlow but that changed a good ten years ago

Damn, that is a beautiful shot. Brings back happy memories of foaming around Cincinnati in that rented Murano instead of attending the convention I was there to attend. And congratulations on calling it a career, Cy... here's wishing you the long and happy retirement you so well deserve!
