Cy...ditch lights don't 'light' when headlights are on low. Click ta MED (medium) the ditch lights are on. Bright also. Slip into a siding/passing track... Drop lights ta low. No ditch lights. Here on 2LARRCO, them's the rules!

On Uncle Pete's outfit run high beams alla time, daylight, dusk, night, sidings, passing track, or meeting on adjacent track. Otherwise you won't be seen by an opposing train!

LAMCO? It's always about safety, hence they follow UP to the letter. High beams, with ditch lighs when running or not!

Anybody else notice in that Unstoppable movie they had ALL the lights on in the consists? Thats how I run. Front and back ditchlights, step lights, dome lights, shitter lights, boss' lantern, the flashlight in my grip. ALL OF EM!!!!!!

Ya, But they didn't have the new LED lighting in that movie. You can blind someone with just the platform lites now!!biggrin

Khrist, I keep looking around behind me thinking someone is walking up the side towards the cab.

Them rebuilt sd-40's look like a Jack-O-Lantern from the front at night.

Thats rite, you heard it here first. The nickname for the rebuilt CSX SD-40's is "Jack-O-Lantern".
