was a real bitch after her first makeover, but after the second on she purred like a kitten.

The WC picked up the Southern 3149 in 1994.  Since the green team put the phrontt on the wrong end, she spent the first part of her life running ass phirst due to the location of that little F thingie tramp stamp.  This must have altered her way of thinking, for when the redheads got her, gave her a nose job and a maroon gown, she was all phukked up and lashed out.  She especially hated me.

Once with her as the 6577, I managed to tear an empty ore train intu 3 pieces on account of running out of territory, a dynamiter towards the rear and dynamic brakes that decided to BO themselves.  A couple of weeks later when she was the only unit on another ore empty (with another dynamiter, naturally) I turned her wheels blue all the way to the axle while trying to get her down the hill in one piece.  Later on that summer she got me again as she popped her crankcase pressure out on the mainline (my only unit that day tu.)

The WC decided to try and exorcise those demons by renumbering her to the 6556.  She became a docile pull monster then, and as a reward for good behavior, she was given the Dash-3 upgrade.  She must have really appreciated that because she was from then on a strong runner for me, and was one of the last SD45's tu be purged in '07.

I hated that engine for the longest time, but she made me sad as one of the last to go.

Another one of his flames became a one of a kind for the red heads after they acquired the FRVR on '93.  She ran as "Black Beauty" until I believe 1998 (again, with BO dynamic brakes) when the WC gave her a makeover and upgraded her to Dash-3.  Dates are kinda fuzzy for me but I believe she was still active on the roster until '08.

As I understand it, she was origionally a high hooded bitch and got chopped by National Railway Equipment before they sold it to the FRVR.  I do remember the control stand was placed in such a way that it wasn't quite as bad for running long hood forward (backwards).  I cannot recall if the control stand got moved when she was rebuilt.

Yo Blackie... That unit was grabbed by NREX, and leased ta BNSF back in the '90s ta 'replace' our stolen SD 40-2 fleet...

The idiots in Ft. Worthless musta had some kind of deal going with NREX, 'cause we had everything from outcast Canuck units, ta ex-SP power! All of 'em 45s, or straight 40s... Pre-2, and even one, or two off the QNSL, way, way back in Northeastern Canada!

I remember everything! It's an awful affliction!

The ones we spent most time and effort (Not ta mention parts, man hours, and money on...) were the ex-UP SD 50s. Pieces of schitt!

Now, it all makes perfect sense. It was the Green Team that ruined BD's attitude.
