Came across this perusing RailroadForums.com tonight.

Cant say as I've witnessed a sight like this. The best

I can do is 10 "units".

Interesting... 2LARRCO ain't shedding any big units, like Dash-9s, or GEvos, nope! Notice the numbers, and the pics. All the units in that 'light' power move are Geeps, GP-30s, 35s, and the like. Most are 40-45 years old, or have been run inta the ground, and have become...jun... Surplus. And not needed as BNSF 'transitions' to long-haul only.

Light density branch lines are being spun off, abandoned, or sold at a rate that might surprise even the old BN, or SF leadership that led that merger!

Pretty good bet that very few of these 26 units has seen it last day of
operation. They will be "re-distributed".

CSX or UP will be glad to snap them up to make Road Slugs. Mate to a GP-40, and when yer below 23mph you have another locomotive for free.

Were only allowed 12 locomotives, period.

Bridges wont take it, unless they separate each engine with an empty gondola whathave you, and set up the dead engine cock for operation of the loco brakes like a cars brakes.
