It just never stops when you have a job on the railroad

that it's almost like the tv show "Survivor". The railroads

just dont seem to ever give up trying to trim something.

I think 2-person train crew is workable and efficient.

I go back to the "engineer, fireman, 2-3 brakeman,

and a conductor days at the crew desk.

Trip Optimizer and ATCS are technologies that the carriers hope will trim train crews. They have a terribly long way to go before it can get something over the road with a computer at the helm.It's such a joke it does barely dignify a response other than protest from engineers forced to run with the crap, and then carry liability for the safe operation and responsibilty to bypass these systems in the face of restrictions on movement in their orders or otherwise unforseen circumstances. Makes one wanna puke.
