Fuck BNSF, also known as 2LARRCO! Assholes! Stinkin' bums... Lousy pricks! Know-nothing rat bastards! Take their stuppid 'swoosh' Nike copy-cat logo, and shove it up their ass! Ugliest paint scheme of any Class-I railroad... Except maybe LAMCO!

Uke you need to give credit where credit is do. BNSF (Big

New Santa Fe) has had an "ID crisis" trying to decide

how to paint their fleet of locos. Early on it was try to

incorporate some GN heritage with the green/black and

orange scheme on the 900-1000 series dash-9's. Then

it was the ATSF paint scheme in orange/yellow/black/silver

that 1000's of units are painted in now. Need to mention

that there are a lot of BN and ATSF "GP" power running

around almost 20 years later in the same paint. Think

the BNSF has been the most lacksidaisial in repainting

units after this amount of time. They must know that

the unit will last just long enough not to be repainted.

Seems many Geeps that BNSF eventually disperses

end up on some shortline and running in BN/ATSF

colors for years to come. I like the BNSF "Swoosh"

paint scheme because it "eliminates" all the Santa Fe

which I never liked that much.

Talk about a throwback to an earlier time... Right now there's an SD-9 sitting out back, on the office lead at Balmer yard. At one time it was numbered 6126... More'n likely built for GN back in 1958-60, with a three digit number. Real, main-line power at one time!

It's new paint of course, BN green, also known as "cascade Green" and black! Wonder where she's bound next?

I made a quick pass by the BNSF facilities in Everett last
weekend and there is still plenty BN green and white around.
A couple BN SD60's in BN paint at the RH. Caught this "BN"
lashup heading to Bayside to get on a train.

All those last Geeps...seems like they're all so damn old now... Built in the 1960s, and still running/pulling FIFTY years after GM outshopped 'em from La Grange, IL.
One of the foreman at Interbay...his dad was a mechaninc, then a line-foreman at EMD's main plant in La Grange. Of course he's retired now...

He actually had 'hands on' many of the Geeps that were built for GN, NP, and other railroads during his tenure at EMD.

That foreman GZ will retire from Interbay in Sep. (He's thinkin' he'll quit a week before, then go back ta the 'tools' for a week at Cicero (Chicago) ta assure he gets in on the insurance plan mechanical forces have going in retirement.)

You mean there is at least one guy at Interbay who actually planned out his retirement?
