For the second straight season, the Reds got to the postseason but could not advance. 2013 ended in disappointment once again and now it looks like the poor finish has cost Reds manager Dusty Baker his job.
The Associated Press is reporting that Baker is out as manager even though he is still under contract for next year. What isn't clear is if Baker was fired or if it is his decision to leave. The A-P says the Reds will make the announcement later today though the team has made no official comment yet.@
Dusty Baker has been manager of the Reds since 2008 and has taken the team to the postseason three times. Possible replacements include pitching coach Bryan Price, former Saint Louis Manager Tony Larussa and Reds hall of famer Joe Morgan.
