Slugger...looks like the east end of the eb class yard? Was it a trimmer, or a road train doubling up?

Couldn't have been RCO...hah

Closeup pic of single tank car shows it on 2 different tracks.....oops

Q352 was leaving town when the hazmat car derailed. Not sure of the cause but some are speculating it was broken rail or the rail just rolled. All I know is this is going to take awhile to clean up. Could be up to three days.

I saw a CSX railroad hazmat cop last night. I knew that had their own police but hazmat police? Learn something new everyday.

I was called in for Q161 at 0200. Derailment happened around 2330. Of course Q161 never made it to town because the railroad is shutdown so they sent me out to recrew a North Baltimore/Cleveland train around 0800 that was tied down 12 miles west of town. I told my conductor don't bother knocking off breaks because we're not going anywhere. Of course we didn't turn a wheel. Got paid 290 miles to babysit a train. Easy money. I had the option to deadhead to Chicago so I didn't lose my round trip but didn't feel like riding in a van for another 5-6 hours so we tied up and went home. Besides, I should be home to at least get a warm meal instead of eating at IHOP for Thanksgiving.

Going to be a mess for awhile. Crews have been turning and burning the past few weeks and with the holiday, hunting season and Ohio State/Michigan this weekend, they will have a hard time finding people to work.

Trains are moving again although it's only one of the three mains that are open. Still a huge bottleneck. The other two mains are going to be out awhile because there is going to be lots and lots of digging.

Here is a bit of news about the tank care involved.
