It worked out great that I could see Brad Keslowski win at New Hampshire
and flip right to the begining of the M's vs A's game 3. Chris Young the 6'10"
veteran pitcher did pretty good but needed some offence which he dint get.
M's lose because A's ace "Sonny Gray" was pitching great and M's get just
one run and the A's got 4. Those A's bats can come alive at any time and
put up a "crooked" number on the scoreboard. Still the M's take 2 of 3 from
the A's to complete the season before the All-Star Break with a 51-44 record
good enough to be in the AL Wild-card if the season ended today. For the M's
to continue on near the top they need their number 4-5 pitchers to be effective.
Right now Roenis Elias is the 4th starter and the young Cuban pitcher has a 7-7
record. Great at times..that game he pitched against Detroit but his last 4 starts
have been disasterous. Roenis hangs around King Felix a lot so maybe that will
rub-off into solving some of recent pitching issues. Think the M's are going with
Roenis to the end just like me. This kid is a young "terminator" and he's going
to figure it out. Now the number 5 starter was the "whole M's bullpen" against
the Twins game 4 in Seattle. Thats pretty rare to have no starting pitcher for
a game as usually there is somebody in AAA they can call-up but dint.
How far the M's can go in the playoff hunt really is going to depend on Taijuan
Walker coming back from a couple starts during the all-star break at Tacoma
after some shakyness in his last Seattle start and James Paxton getting near
being back with the M's. I've seen James Paxton pitch and he can be a lights-
out pitcher the rest of the way. Really betting on the "young arms" for the M's
to advance. It could happen. I love watching them pitch and hope to see
them out there the rest of the season.
The M's send a pretty respectable delagation to the 2014 MLB All-Star game
in Minneapolis. King Felix, Fernando Rodney, Robinson Cano, Kyle Seager,
thats quite a delagation. Any one of these players can win it somehow.
Look forward to watching the game on Tuesday.

Well it was as different as every All-Star Game as you never know what to
expect. King Felix got the start..which is a feather in the cap..and pitched
well enough to leave with 2K's and a "zero" on the scoreboard. His job
was done. Notice Felix is into the "tats" as he seems have more every
time I see him. The one important "tat" Felix has is the one on his neck
that you see everytime you see him make a pitch..the one that looks
like a "V". Well that no ordinary "V" as its the astroligical symbol for Aries
and King Felix born April 8 1986 has both the Sun and Moon in Aries so
he must be into the stars. Robinson Cano dint have a good day at the
plate but made some All-Star catches at 2nd base. Kyle Seager got a
couple AB's and hit it hard right at somebody twice. Fernando Rodney
got a chance to show his stuff in the game and the now famous "Archer"
routine as he left with another "0" for NL. So the M's All-Stars did have
some effect on the win for the American League which gives the AL
homefield advantage in the World Serious in which the M's are looking
good these days and if that were to continue to the point to where
Seattle hosts the World Serious..well..just look back to the All-Star game.

Wow I miss baseball..just noticed.. as the there was no MLB action Wednesday
and same thing Thursday which is tomorrow. These breaks in the schedule seem
quite long but I'm sure some teams will respond to the "rest". Hope the M's are
one of those teams. I'm sure the M's are in some trade-talks with other clubs
as the trading deadline is 2-weeks away with the M's in the hunt. So for those
M's players that cant get above a .220 batting average 2/3rds into the season,
they may find a replacement for you. M's really need another quality starting
pitcher to add to the rotation and Price from the Rays has been suggested
but what do you give up in a return. The M's have the pitching but some
of them are just getting healthy and could finish off the season huge with
James Paxton and Taijuan Walker. Think the M's can go far with the talent
they have and they have a lot. See what happens after the All-Star break.
Any trade the M's make better be good.

First game back to play after the All-Star game and the M's have 3-games
at Anaheim. Game one goes 16 innings before the Angels manage to score
a run off the M's bullpen who went 8-innings without giving up anything.
The game played under the Sun square Mars aspect. Each team had
all kinds of chances to cash-in on opportunities but nada. The game is
wearing on and I'm pleasantly plastered at past midnight and I'm hoping
the game comes to a conclusion..one way or another as it was taxing
my "positive thought process". Of course every fan thinks that they are
at the "controls" of their team meaning by "very powerful thought" the
team you are in favor of will execute some thought you had whether
its a double off the wall or a HR or maybe if you are the pitcher you
unleash some of the nastiest pitches ever scene. Well I'm just glad
the M's are on the TV every game as this was this game was a long
one an maybe 10K fans remained at Anahiem to see the win in 16
out of the 40K fans to start out with. I think it was a very gutsy
determined start for the M's to start the second half of the season.
Maybe they can blame the stars. Tomorrow another day as King Felix
gets the start.

After losing last night ta the Angels 3-2, in 16 innings, the Mariners came back for a win over Los Angeles 3-2, in 12 innings

http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2014_07_19_seamlb_anamlb_1&mode=box#gid=2014_07_19_seamlb_anamlb_1&mode=box

These guys are playin' fundamentally good baseball. They might even be contenders this year, or at least have a shot as wild card in the Western Division of the AL. That would be really sweet!

The M's and Angels go at game 2 at Anaheim with King Felix and
the Angels top pitcher Garret Richards. Pretty much both teams
realized that just getting one run could be enough to win the game.
Richards blinked first as the M's score a run in the 6th and thats all
King Felix would get to support his 12th consecutive start with 7
innings and giving up less than 2 runs. If King Felix can do this his
next start, he will tie Tom Seaver at 13 games which is the record.
King Felix pitched great at times but in 2 seperate innings he walked
2 batters in a row to create some serious stress but he pitched
his way out of it to leave the game after 7-innings with the score 1-1.
Another "No-Decision" that should be another win for Felix as he
pitched great with 9 K's and allowing 1 "un-earned" run on an error.
Games like these dont go unnoticed by the "Cy Young" award team.
For the second straight night we "go into extra's" as this time the M's
get to "bounce" after a 12-inning game. The M's werent bouncing
around after Fridays 16-inning game but all it take is 24 hours
to get you bounce back. Great game to watch that 3-2 win by the M's
Saturday night.

Gawd I'm glad this 3-game series with the Angels is over. 37-innings
of either the score being tied or resulting in a one run win. Both teams
got to be feeling exhausted as I know I am just watching the games
on TV. Sundays day game at Anaheim was the "rubber-game".
M's get off to a great start with a 3-0 lead after 1 inning. Angels
club their way back to 3-3. M's go up 5-3 in the 7th. M's relief
give up a run to the Angles in the 7th to make it 5-4 M's.
Fernando Rodney gets called into to finish the bottom of the 8th
inning and does so...but he pulled his archer routine and point
the imaginary arrow at the Angels dugout. Well I knew that wasnt
to bode well for him as Rodney started off the 9th-inning and
coulnt find the plate. A bunch of walks and Albert Pujuois gets
a tieing RBI and the Trout gets hit and they are returning the
"imaginary arrows" "Rodney Style". Fernando jumped the gun
on his celebratory arrow routine and I'm sure he will say he
is a little embarassed maybe. If Rodney can save his trademark
"finish" for the end of the game think no reason for any change
to it. M's lose a heartbreaker but atleast it dint go extra innings.
M's fly home to face the New York Mets for 3-games and then
4-games with Baltimore. I know nothing about the Mets..New
Yorks other team. Will get to know them better after a 3-game
series. M's need to get it going again and forget about those
last 3-games at the Angels.

The Mariners hosting the Mets...not since 2005 since that happened.
Pedro Martinez was pitching last time (only time) the Mets came
to Safeco. The Mets were kind of an unknown team to me as I dont
pay much attention to the NL during the season. After a 3-game series
with the Mets..they dint do much to win the series 2-1 as the M's
just went into that "Icky-mode" where the offence just cannot "deliver"
RBI's at all. Mets pitching was pretty good with De Grom as he had the
M's on their knees in game 2. Then the Mets just happen to have
Bartolo Colon who happens to have a 12-1 record pitching at Safeco
Field and he was firing no-no stuff for 6-innings and so the Mets take
the rubber game. The Mets just seem like every other team MLB that
can visit your stadium and beat you on any given night.

I thought I could wait to say something about the M's vs O's at Safeco
this weekend until after but not possible. Iwakuma gives up a 4-spot
in the 3rd inning against the O's with Delmond Young hitting a 3-run hr.
M's offence couldnt do a thing and O's win game one 4-0.
Friday night King Felix tied Tom Seaver with 13 as most quality starts
pitching 7-innings giving up less than 2-runs as he struck out 10 O's
and left just giving up a line-drive HR to Nelson Cruz. M's bullpen wasnt
perfect tonight as Chris Davis launched a winner in the top of the 10th.
The M's seem to be in some downward swirl right now and the Yankees
and Toronto have leaped ahead for the 2nd wildcard spot. The M's
did pick-up Kendrys Morales from the Twins and he was in the line-up
tonight for the M's. The M's need to stop the "swirl" right now if they
want to stay in the hunt.

Well King Felix enters the record books pitching his 14th consecutive start going
7-innings and giving up 2-runs or less. Too bad for the King as the M's could do
little with Cleveland's Gruber on the mound opposing pitcher. It's been the story
of Felix's life with the M's..no run support. Felix takes the loss in this record
breaking performance. Add the no-decsions as wins to Felix' record and he would
be close to 20 wins. Like I say the Cy Young Committee pay attention to all those
kind of things. King Felix is pitching the best baseball of his career right now and
a lot of fun to watch pitch every 5-days.

Sorry Troll.."Kluber" as he pitched more than great as he
only thru 85 pitches in a complete game shutout of the M's
which is astounding. Dont think the M's will see "Kluber"
the rest of the year as the M's and Indians played game
3 at Cleveland. M's come out on top with a blast from
Mike Zunino after a 4-4 tie for most of the game and M's
take the series at Cleveland. Zunino leads all catchers in
the bigs with 17hrs and these homers are line-drive blasts.
Zunino on his way to maybe 25 before the season ends.
M's head to Baltimore for 3-game series angainst the O's
that they just played at Safeco last week. M's need some
better luck against the O's and a few better players which
will arrive to start the series with Baltimore with the trade
for Austin Jackson from Detroit and Chris Denorfia from
the Padres. Right-handed bats were much needed and these
guys can hit. Great trade from the M's as they gave up surplus
to get something to add to the current shot at getting a wildcard
spot. James Paxton looks to return to the starting rotation
on Saturday after several months out due to injury. If James
pitches like we know he can, the M's are going to be a even
"more fortified" starting "5".
