...Hoard it if you can afford it...If you use the stuff and demand the higher grade...

....There's an olive oil crisis seizing Italy and Spain, and the shortage could affect prices around the world. We hear why every golden drop of olive oil may be getting a little more precious.

Last month, the major Italian newspaper La Republicca, splashed an especially dark headline across its pages, dubbing 2014 "L'Anno Nero Dell'Olio Italiano" -- or, The Black Year of Italian Olive Oil.

I found that cooking for myself these days that I only
need "Saffola" oil. Safflower oil is not GMO as far as
I know. I actually grew safflowers in my garden a few
years. I like the oil because it doesnt add any flavor
you dont want. Probly the most neutral cooking oil
as to not "overpower" the dish and foods taste more
like youd expect. Olive oil has a taste you either lub
or hate and the oil is espensive. To splash this oil into
every hot pan to saute onions, garlic, and whatever
comes after that you have to have a higher income and
advance cooking knowledge to have many bottles
of olive oil on hand and thats espensive.

Socialist, dude. Socialist. Read your Wikipedia already. Fer cryinoudlowd eh. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Democratic_Party

I agree Krink. Olive oil is only suitable for the lowest of frypan heat settings. It gets used only on salads, garlic toast Maybe a mushroom sautee. That is why when visiting CosTco, the great big CosTco sized bottle of avocado oil lands in the big CosTco cart. Nice, neutral flavour and a very high smoke point. For silver dollar pan fry breakfast potatoes we love to grease the pan here with fat rendered from affordably priced bacon, usually purchased @ CosTco.

Yeah. Good one. Slow stewed organic apples with that oatmeal, tu.

Tablespoon in a pot of basmati brown rice from CosTco is a regular thing we've happily used over here.
