The M's are in Kansas City to play a 3-game series and its warm.
Game one had Iwakuma going and "Kuma" pitches another gem
going 7-innings and no-runs. M's win big with a "5-homer" attack.
Robinson Cano hits 2hrs, Kyle Seager, Brad Miller, Jesus Montero
all go deep. M's win 11-2. Game 2 was close game all the way.
Roenis Elias pitched a great game for 5 1/3 only giving up 1 run
and gets a ND as the M's bullpen loses this game in 10 innings.
Tom Wilhemsen blows his first save opportunity of the year as
the new M's closer replacing Fernando Rodney. Royals get
the chance to bounce as they get the big hit and M's lose 4-3.
Game 3 had James Paxton getting the start and he has to leave
the game in the bottom of the 2nd after "ripping off a fingernail"
on his pitching hand. So this starts the parade of the M's bullpen
which is already weary and they keep it close for a while and
then its 10-4 Royals. M's lose the 3-game series to a very hot
Kansas City Royals baseball club who by virture of this win over
the M's clinch the AL Central. M's fly off to Los Angeles to play
the Angels a 3-game series. King Felix goes after his 19th win
and Nelson Cruz is way overdo for his next HR's. Cano gets his
2000th hit at KC. Robbie has some impressive records going
to start a career.

You can say the M's "starting rotation" this season has a
lot to do with the sub-500 record. The King, Iwakuma, Walker,
all have kept up to their back of the baseball card. James
Paxton has been on the DL twice now with finger issues.
J Happ started the season with M's as a starter and I'm glad
they traded him to Pittsburgh. The Mike Montgomery thing
got off to a great start and then he loses it and gets sent
down. Roenis Elias has had some good starts. Been many
TBA for starting pitcher for the M's lately and it ends up to be
Vidal Nuno to pitch game one against the Angels. Vidal pitched
the game of his life just before MIR and maybe his worst just
after. Add another bad start with MIR influences to Vidal Nuno
as he gives up 4-runs in the 1st and another in the 5th. M's kept
it close with Nelson Cruz's 43hr and Lomo's 2 rbi's but the M's
bullpen had a meltdown and the Angels take game 1 in a romp
8-4. Game 2 had the King on the mound and got through some
rough early innings to pitch 6-innings and have a 2-1 lead and
give up a HR to CJ Cron to make it 2-2. Danny Farquhar gives
up a walk-off HR David Freese in the 9th. This game will be known
forever for the "miracle catch by Mike Trout" who scales the 8ft
fence to the height of his belt buckel and snag a 3-run HR from
Jesus Montero. Game 3 has Iwakuma going in a 1pm start and
I almost completely forgot the M's were playing a day game.
With NASCAR at New Hampshire and the Seahawks on the tube
at once my first "check-in" with M's game was the 8th inning
game at 2-2 and Iwakuma just gave-up a double to a very fiesty
Giavotella and the bullpen comes in and gets out of a jam.
David Freese for the 2nd night hits a walk-off HR and the Angels
sweep the M's and keep whatever chances they have left to get
into the playoffs. M's eliminated from post-season officially.
So the M's finish the season at Safeco with 3 against the Astros
and 3 against the A's. M's 74-82 on the season with 6-games left.

Just a shortened write-up for the Astros at Seattle...Astros won the
3-game series 2-1. New news ...Jerry Dipoto new M's GM..ex Angel
GM. This is great news. M's shutdown King Felix for the rest of the
season after a ND trying to get his 19th win. The King finnishes with
a 18-9 record and not in the Cy Young running this year. M's also
shutdown Taiwan Walker for the season. James Paxton done for
the season. Just Iwakuma and Elias left standing of the M's rotation.
Vidal Nunos getting another start. Have to say I never saw the meltdown
of the starting pitching coming. Then the M's bullpen had Fernado Rodney
as the closer for over half the season. M's host the Oakland A's for a 3-game
finale to the 2015 season.

A's in town to finish the 2015 season and Hishasi Iwakuma
trying to get his 10th win and it looked like he was going
to get it as he goes 7-innings striking out 8 A's but leaves the
game with a 2-2 tie...a ND for Kuma. Danny Farquhar comes
in a gives up yet another 2 run HR late to Danny Velencia
in the top of the 8th. A's win 4-2. Game 2 is an extra-inning affair
that goes 13-innings and the M's bullpen couldnt nail down the
save and A's win game 2..7-5. Vidal Nuno has been the TBA
starting pitcher about 5-6 times this late season due to the injuries
to the M's starting staff. Vidal pitches good enough and the M's bullpen
does as well as the M's take game 3. M's finish 76-86 for the season.
Just couldnt change that 10-games "behind" as the M's could never
mount a winning streak all season. You need to reel-off a few 10-12
game winning streaks during the season to get into the playoffs.
Have more to add to the 2015 Mariners season report later.

Well new M's GM Jerry Dipoto lets M's manager Lloyd McLendon go
with a year still under contract and most of the coaching staff.
Edgar Martinez might have survived. This is going to be a very
busy off-season for the M's. I feel for Lloyd (fellow Capricorn)
as he and I watched in dismay as his players would always pick
the wrong time to have a bad pitching start or relief effort. Offence
cant do anything against some pitchers. Too many home losses
of which nobody can figure out why. Then toss in 2 MIR periods
and a VIR period into the 162 games. So we learn of the new M's
Manager in the coming weeks. Also I hope they can land a catcher
that can hit. Mike Zunnino and the rest are hitting in the mid .150's
which is equivelent to the pitcher hitting. Lots more later.

Reading a newspaper article with some details...along with
Lloyd Mclendon..bench coach Trent Jewitt, pitching coach
Rick Waits, 3rd base coach Rich Donnelly and outfield coach
Andy Van Slyke and bullpen coach Mike Rojas all sent packing.
Need to mention this all took place during MIR. Got to give Lloyd
Mclendon his kudos as he along with the great Lou Pinnela are
the only 2 mangers with a winning record managing the M's.
Not sure what Lloyd's 3rd year salary was but I think it was
several million. I thought he was a good manager just too
many failures by the players that you wouldnt expect. I mean
King Felix goes 18-9 for the season and he retrains his top spot
as one of the great pitchers today...but a bunch of those 9 losses
were utter pitching failures where the King gives up 7-runs in
the 1st inning. I mean as a manager how do you cope with a
situation like this. The King dropped a "poopy" on several occations
this season and mostly when the M's were hoping to get a win
streak going. All the other starting pitchers went through the same
thing as hot one start and suck the next. Well I guess help is coming
to the Mariner organization for 2016.

So the M's hire Scott Servais (Service) as new manger for 2016. Interesting
that both new GM Jerry Dipoto and Scott Servias are both Gemini which is
important to communicating. Interesting as well as Jack Z and Lloyd Mclendon
had the same birthday both Capricorns. Out with the Capricorns and bring in the
ever thinking Gemini team. Talk about a complete overhaul of the M's organization
this off-season.

New M's GM gets the trading started with the trade of Danny Farquhar,
Brad Miller, and Logan Morrison to the Tampa Bay Rays for RHP Nathan
Karns, OF Boog Powell, and a lefty reliever C.J. Riefehhauser. All 3 M's players
very expendable. Farquahar really speedy on the mound and sometimes
he makes mistakes and I seen enough of Danny. Brad Miller has a future
and I hope he develops in Tampa Bay. The lovable LoMo is a pretty good 1st
baseman but couldn't get hot as a hitter for the M's for more than 2-weeks a season.
LoMo played with Marlins prior to Seattle so he's used to playing in Florida.
Nathan Karns already projected to be in the M's starting rotation for 2016.
I haven't looked yet to see any irony in having "Boog Powell" being the M's
leadoff hitter in 2016...but that's what the M's are projecting at this point
in time. C.J. Riefehhauser seems to be a back-up for Charlie Furbush and
good news is Charlie will be back for 2016 "pitching effectively" from the
left-hand side. Wow this could be deadly for the M's to have 2 lefthanded
killers in the bullpen. Happy with this trade.

The most important stat? Did the 'team' reach the magic number? Not this time. That elusive .500 just couldn't be reached. Yet again! Poor Mariners. The bleeding continues. Again.

Final stats for the main group. Some shine, the rest continue with unremarkable numbers. Time for a good cry.*

Next year for sure, dammit!

I said what I felt when spring training 2015 was over... when I started this thread
"Seattle Mariners 2015...Much better". Well over a 162 game season...2 MIR periods
lasting 3+ weeks and a VIR Venus in retrograde for 5-weeks in the middle of the
baseball season.. bet your projections go through some re-projecting. I know
there is every possible stat available for every player in MLB today...but the one
stat to have is who is money during MIR or VIR as every player going to feel
the celestial energy and either turn it into a slump or a hot streak or an injury
or total frustration. Don't think Jack Z or Lloyd McClendon were into the stars.
I was just as "bewildered" as they the way things turned out in 2015.

So this thread now becomes "Hot Stove League"...talkin' baseball during the winter.
M's want Iwakuma back for 2016 and extend a qualifying offer for $15.8 million.
Seems a fair price but maybe $16 million but that's as high as I would go.
Kuma is a 14-18 game wins a season pitcher. M's need to sign Kuma.

Your conclusion of this thread then, blames the stars, and planets for the M's lousy performance through 2015, correct?

Meanwhile, as if you hadn't been aware, the entire MLB played on regardless of what was happening 'out there' with the planetary influences. What happened there eh? Take a peek at stats for the Cubs, Mets, Nats...and ultimate winners, and wild card teams in thelate season and play offs.

In baseball, the scores of every game is what matters most.

Its a fact that every MLB season will have MIR present twice. Now it could be spring
training MIR and mid to late season MIR. Its where the mental aspects become more
prominent. Some gain but most lose it. Slumps like 0-18 at the plate or a .093 hitter getting
stand-up triple. Baseball is such a great sport.

M's Hot Stove and the M's are wheeling and dealing. Old business...M's re-sign Franklin
Gutierrez to a one year deal for $1.5 million and I hope he has a year like last year coming
in a little late and looked better than ever with more power and won some games for the
M's with some clutch HR's and big hits. Guti good to have around as he's part of the
Venezuela gang in the M's clubhouse. Guti has had to overcome some health issues and
injuries the past couple seasons but he sure looked like a player you want to have back for 2016.

Next get closer Joaquin Benoit from San Diego for a couple minor leaguers.

So the news today 11-16-15...M's trade closer Tom Wilhemsen and OF James Jones
to Texas for CF Leonys Martin and RHP Anthony Bass. Hard to say goodbye to the
"Bartender" Tom Wilhemsen and that "Saturn face" when on the mound. James
Jones first jump the majors was "spectactualar" for a couple weeks then got benched
when the regular came back. Bounced up and down from AAA Tacoma and the M's
but just could never get hitting going in the bigs...the other side to James Jones value
is he is a super-duper fast runner. Good trade.

M's pick-up catcher Chris Ianetta as a free agent. Born 4/8/83 Aries/Firesign which is
a perfect fit for a M's catcher because King Felix, Kuma, and most of the relievers
are firesigns. Mike Zunino is also an Aries and did a great job "catching" but was a
"strikeout king". Hitting at .150 is not something a player in the bigs can do anymore
before you get replaced. Zunino has great power but the worst BA. Think the M's
sent Zunino someplace for "re-grooving" and hopes the guy might be .267 hitter
instead of a .167 Yes its been a while since the M's had a catcher that had a BA
over .200 The great M's catchers over the years with Dave Valle, Dan Wilson, Kenji
Jojama all did well with the bat during their time. The catcher position for the M's
has been for years they don't care if you cant hit .200 but you have worth catching
a 110 pitches from the "King" successfully. Yes the M's make a move that can only help
in maybe your catcher due up to the plate is hitting .278 and not an automatic out
like a pitcher. Be interesting come spring training if they found a way to get Zunino
to hit.
