Northbound coal train at Marysville WA

I noticed this vantage point a couple weeks ago

enroute to getting my Jetta emmision tested. There

was a huge lumber mill in the way but now the lumber

mill is history. Need a few more trys as there are a lot

of overhead wires that I might be able to re-position

myself to avoid. 1st Street Marysville is the first possible

because south of 1st Street is Ebey Slough so this is

the southern most point of Marysville city limits.

I can tell you its a long wait if you are stuck in traffic

when a coal train comes through town. Traffic backups

like you cant believe in Marysville after a train comes

through town. The northbound coal/oil/other trains

have to go 10mph crossing bridge 37 Everett so I was

listening to my scanner when Br 37 said to this coal

train "you are off the bridge"..shit the head end was

looking at Marysville already. It's 25 mph over 4th Street

Marysville so this train was on the gas to get to 25mph

and then its balls to wall after you cross 4th Street to

maybe 50mph by the time you exit Marysville.
