Last year same sort of power sitting in front the ex-GN/BN depot on Christmas Day.
This year the sun was out and made for better pictures.

no Shame on the Bellingham BeaNSiFfers. If the safety chains smile, Snippy frowns.

For GAWD's sakes, LAMCO has a "Buddy System" rule, but no tight chain rule. no

disbelief If you've ever been almost 'flipped off', you understand.

In these short crew days, it's usually the trainee standing close. In the old days, there used to be a brakeman in that area. disbelief

Sad,Sad,Sad, for the Ham nowdays.

That is the Switch crews power.

Far as I know them and a Roadmaster are the only ones that still reside in Bellingham.

You probably noticed diddly squat as far as cars in the yard. Has become the new norm.

Most of the switching goes on out at Intalco- Valley tracks- Elliot yard- Cherry Point.

Wonder how much time is left for Bellingham Switch?

I know railroad sadness and BHam rates right up there for railroad sadness. I began
to understand how much freight Bham contributed to the BN mainline every day.
From the 70's thru the 80's and even the 90's Bham had GP running at full capacity
and a few others like Oesers pole yard and some cement business but GP was the
bread and butter for the GN/BN in Bham. Now in 2015 with continueing of the GP
dismantle...Bham has the garbage business as it most important customer. The Bham
yard has about 10-14 double-stack cars with "Rabanco 40ft containers". Think Bellingham
will become nothing more than the next "controlled siding"....with a little work.
