Worked trash trains at E-Port. I can still hear the wailing when I would shop a car or tu there....

The last year worked at E'port shop, Newark Airport was flying low takeoffs/landing right over the shop, shaking the shit out of us! It was getting worse by the day. By the time I called it quits there were at least 6-8 low flights over the shop. The building shook like an earthquake hit...

Spring '79 I headed west. After a few months labor on construction crews in Spokane,  I hired on at BN Hillyard Diesel Shop. Pretty good outfit back then. It was a real family place. Younger guys followed their dads, or grandpas into RR work, either shops, or road jobs.

At that time, Spokane was a RR town. BN, UP, Milwaukee, and Spokane International, which was basically a transfer for CN/CP routed freight into the US Northern Tier outfits above.
