KY is about 20 degrees and still snowing.  About 14 inches on the ground and lots of wind.

Daughter had to borrow her son's truck to get to her pharmacy--about 15 miles up I 75.  Haven't had any phone calls yet.  Could be worse,  Her job is to cover for other pharmacists in a 150 mile radius of Lexington.

Update, and correction (From NY Times);

In Kentucky, a salt truck crossed into oncoming traffic in Whitley County and rammed head-on into a vehicle, killing Billy R. Stevens, 59, and injuring two others, the state police said.

Daughter survived--No worries.

Huge marina on Cumberland Late was destroyed by snowfall.  Really big, with lots of luxury houseboats.

I didn't realize how bad this was until local TV showed a flyover---the whole thing was destroyed.  No way to work on it until the snow melts; with luck, maybe a week.  Most of the slips had boats in place.

Bad idea to park your boat in a covered marina in snow country??

Worse than I thot--it seems that all Marinas in southern half of KY were destroyed.  Many were very large.

Building houseboats has been a great, mostly recent industry for the state.  Factories are located south of us, near Cumberland Lake.

Unrelated, making farm gates [tubular steel const] is also a big but almost unknown business.  Stop into any local farm store and you will see them.  The brand name on the largest firm is TARTAR, and they claim to sell nation wide.  Several other companies build these and all are located near the small town of Liberty.  Some may ship by rail to the West Coast and Canada.

I knew Wes had some news for us. Marinas and luxury boats damaged is not something
we may ever hear of. I always wondered where tubular farm gates came from. I'll look
for the TARTAR name. So how much old snow you looking at Wes?

I think of Kentucky quite a bit with the new Gov wanting to get rid of Obama care there.

If you're going to break the law, be sure to have a full tank. Or at least a full charge and how fast will an electric car go, anyway? He must have gotten out of second gear, tu. But Cy strays from the subject at hand, which is this:

A Kentucky man who drove more than double the 70 mph speed limit and led police on a lengthy pursuit has been arrested after running out of gas.

The incident occurred on Saturday, May 15, at approximately 12:58 p.m. when the Nelson County Dispatch in Kentucky received a call from the Kentucky State Police Dispatch asking for help to catch a man driving a bright yellow 2015 Ford Mustang.
