Hudson, 62, hadnt been seen by neighbors since July 2015 and was reported missing shortly before Christmas.
Police in Mansfield said they believe human remains found in northern Richland County may be linked to Hudsons death, although they are waiting for a coroners report.
Mark Clever lives in the house next to Hudsons and told NBC4 she was quiet but a good neighbor.
She was a nice lady, Clever said. She didnt bother nobody, she stuck to herself, and like I told before, you couldnt ask for a better neighbor than her.
Clever said Hudson kept dozens of stray cats.
Neighbors previously said they thought those cats may have been the cause of an argument between Hudson and the couple who lived on the other side of her house, Walter Renz and Linda Buckner.
Neighbors said the couple moved out in July, about the time Hudson was last seen. Late last week, the U.S. Marshals Task Force arrested the two at a campground near Nashville, Tenn.
On Monday, Renz, 53, appeared in court by video to be arraigned on a charge of receiving stolen property, tied to use of Hudsons credit card.
He entered a not guilty plea to the felony charge and was ordered held on $250,000 cash bond.
No one has been charged with Hudsons death. Investigators said they believe human remains found in northern Richland County may belong to Hudson.
Clever said he has been in touch with Hudsons relatives.
Theyre still hoping for the best, but it doesnt look like its going to be that way now, Clever said.
On Monday, police and a forensic team were outside the house on Spring Street, but they would not say what they were doing there.
