Even though there were a few people who never could pass the school, and at least two who came back from school but just couldn't figure out how to put into practice what they'd learned, and were talked into resigning, I thought they'd kind of gotten to the place where they'd sort of spoon-fed the student HAWGS so that somehow, they'd pass. Guess that she was A) really dumb or, B) they didn't want her around at all.

After going through it and the many others who passed it, I would go with A. About 3/4 of the way through you start to realize that the school is set up for the lowest common denominator, not to weed people out.

I remember the first group of guys who went down there from Red Team territory, this would have been 1988. When they came back, they made it sound like it'd been somewhat challenging. Some of those guys were experienced railroaders who'd worked other places, mostly places that Conrail had annihilated.
In later years, that changed and I believe they made it a bit, ah, simpler, perhaps.
Nah, she doesn't work for LAMCO anymore, she works for Watco as a brakeman. When we pull into the plant, they take over after we clear the split rail in the yard. She isn't railroad hot...
