February 16 2019 three derailments happened in various places on different railroads. The lesser was a 7 car derailment at
CSX Willard OH. At Cloquet MN 34 miles west of Superior WI a BNSF loaded coal trail derails 40-cars.

But the winner/loser goes to the CN loaded oil train that derailed 37 cars of oil at the SK/MB border town of St Lazare MB.

So if you were to run a transit report or lets say a birth chart for the moment of derailment you would have a lot to chose
from as contributors. A waning Mars conjunct Uranus plus the waxing Venus conjunct Saturn/Mercury conjunct Neptune.
Thats seems plenty but there could also be one of those "Super Nova Windows" hit. It could be as simple as trying to run
trains in freezing conditions and the chance for failure is higher. Its one of the two.

February 24-25 2019 numerous big stories in the railroad news.

A pick-up truck pulling a trailer almost made it across a crossing but not quite. A BNSF train went into emergency
and in the process derailed 23 cars in Millbank SD.

AMTK #11 Coast Starlight hits a tree in deep snow near Oakridge OR 50 miles from Eugene. Train has been stuck for more than 24hrs and the

snow is getting deeper. UP trying to do something but the snow is really coming down. Think this AMTK may have to retreat back to Eugene

as going forward is very tuff sledding. Ongoing drama that is national news.

UP crews stranded in the snow in Minnesota that needed rescue.

AMTK #7 westbound Empire Builder going through Skykomish WA running 12+hrs late. Atleast they are not stranded.

I'm sure there is more winter misery than this.

So my idea of retreat to Eugene for AMTK #11 was approved. Atleast a place for passengers to get off the train and figure
out what to do next. Since the train is exhausted of supplies and needs servicing might as well drag this train back to Seattle.
Local news said the train pulled into King Street Station Seattle just before 11PM Tuesday with just a handful of passengers left.
Seattle does the Amtrak train servicing to get the train ready for Wednesday's departure south to LA. Same goes for the Empire
Builder as it arrived 12hrs late from Chicago so this is the equipment for #8 eastbound that was scheduled to lv Seattle 6hrs ago.
The Empire Builder been cancelled from Chicago or Seattle a couple times recently. Got some bad winter going on.

I should put this story in the UP section as they are experiencing "8th notch Winter" meaning the snow never stops and Donner Pass
is having a "SP Winter Flashback". The Oregon Cascades having their "SP Winter Flashback" as well. I found on TO a UP day on Donner
Pass..."A day of infamy on Donner". Apparently infamy can only happen once according to one TO member. I say it can happen a lot more
times than once.

Maybe it's just me but Pearl Harbor is far more a Day of Infamy than getting stuck on a Amtrak train. There would be others but getting stuck on a Amtrak would not rank, ICHO.

"Keokuk"...I could go years without ever hearing the towns name "Keokuk". But since its MIR towns you don't hear about
much are in the news. BNSF derails 13 cars of coal on the streets of Keokuk. That would seem plenty to deal with but
a couple mile down the track in Missouri on the same line a grain elevator/bin loaded to the brim the day before burst
open and grain is over the tracks like a mud/landslide. A whole lot of labor called out to go non-stop to clean these messes.

Thankfully something happened in Keokuk IA for me to checkout the railroad scene. BNSF mainline with nothing
but coal trains and a local. There is the Keokuk Junction Railway too. What a surprise to find they use a A-B-A F-unit
lashup in daily revenue freight service. Pretty pathetic "Santa Train Cab Hop" but they probly don't own any passenger
equipment.
