President Donald Trump unleashed a new attack on Special Counsel Robert Muellers investigation on Thursday, as he insisted his White House is operating well and was preparing to meet with Senate Republican leaders.

MUELLER ATTACK

Trump called Muellers investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election a disgrace to our Nation, slamming the probe in a series of tweets. Trumps attack comes after his ousting last week of Jeff Sessions as attorney general, and the appointment of Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitakerwho publicly criticized Muellers inquiry before working at the Justice Department.

Trump also falsely said Mueller worked for President Barack Obama for eight years. Mueller, a Republican, was FBI director under former President George W. Bush for almost eight years and headed the bureau under Obama for four years.

SMOOTH-RUNNING WHITE HOUSE

Having removed his deputy national security adviser, Trump said anytime I even think about making changes, the FAKE NEWS MEDIA goes crazy, always seeking to make us look as bad as possible! (The president also is said to be close to ousting Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen.)

Trump said the White House is running very smoothly and the results for our Nation are obviously very good. Trump removed deputy national security adviser Mira Ricardel on Wednesday after a feud with first lady Melania Trumps office.

SENATE GOP MEETING ON DECK

Following a visit with Marines who responded to a fire at their Washington barracks in September, Trump is scheduled to meet with Senate Republican leaders. The meeting comes a little more than a week after the midterm elections, in which the GOP retained a Senate majority but lost the House to Democrats.
