...for some Filipino cuisine. May hafta drive ta Portland, or Gawd (Hizownselph) forbid! Seattle was the last place I had good hot/spicy Filipino food, in a sit-down joint. Now I'm not really sure about Portland (OR) but maybe, just maybe they'll have at least one mom & pop joint that serves up some spicy chicken, with rice, and beans!

One of the largest Filipino diaspora communities in the US, is around Jersey City, NJ. That shit surprised the hell outa me. But maybe I shouldn't be so surprised, since I've seen huge communities built up in cities all over weird places. Portuguese, Korean, Indian, Pakistani, Bengali, and they all bring their cultural traditions, and their food along.

Now it's Filipino food, and culture, and lingua franca: Tagalog.

Great new (ta me) is this joint J&C Barbecue Restaurant. They so it right, and best thing about it, it's a walk from my door! Damn good food, nice folks, pleasant 'retro' atmospher, plus the aromas from the outside wood-fired roasters!
