While there may be BIG bucks behind this opening, it's doubtful that a fanbase can be brought in to an already expensive TWO major sports town. Cheapest seats at Mariners Baseball games? About $24, plus parking!

Just try ta grab seats for a Seahawks game. Prepare for a shocker. Cheap (?) seats (binoculars required) $85. Again parking fees will apply! No more basketball. Seattle Sonics sold by Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbucks.

Okay. Seattle does have a soccer/futbol team. They are popular among loyal fans. But they are not a world class club. Yet.

So will NHL make it in Seattle? Good question.

Yeah but they did win a NHL Championship AND the Stanley Cup about a hundred years ago. Yep. 1917. And for a team that only lasted from 1915 to 1924 that IZ a BIG deal! Yep!

Say they do manage to put together a NHL franchise. Then what? All them yuppies gonna support their newest pro sports team? I think not! Seattle ain't a sports town. Not in a real sense. Their football team sucks. Their baseball team sucks. They got no basketball team! Their soccer team sucks too! Now somebody (?) wants a hockey team... Why? They gotta build a stadium, 'cause the last place their old non-pro team the Thunderbirds played ain't suitable for ice.

No. No. No. No hockey for Seattle! Seattle hates pro sports! Fuck Seattle!

Meanwhile "Hell on Earth" around the old Seattle Key Arena for the next 2 years as they remodel it to current NHL standards.
The nearby residents will not give a shit about hockey 2yrs from now. They will have to put up with a lot of noise day/night and
traffic and trucks. But just think how great everything will be in 2021. If I want to see a hockey game the Everett Silvertips play
just 7 miles from my house in the Western Hockey League. Seattle and Vancouver BC also have teams in the 22 team WHL.
Good for Seattle to get awarded a NHL franchise. 2-year wait probly going to seem like 2yrs to those that love hockey. I dont
love hockey so I can wait for the first "puck to drop".
