...before i go. Who doesn't like old steam trains? This old Durango & Silverton was a branch of the D&RGW way, way b ack in history, when narrow guage was common. They were a mountain railroad moving silver and gold ore out of the mines for processing down in the flat lands. This little outfit is all that's left from that era.

They do rides for tourists, and have a 'season' where they do specials. They have a few vids on YouTube as well. Check 'em out if you're a fan.

Pretty shure that they are shut down because of the fire danger from sparks. They were working on one locomotive to convert from coal to oil.

You could pay big bux to ride behind their diesel loco, what would be historical bout that?
