In any case, it may not help increase ridership from point A ta point B for instance. Like Seattle to Chicago. The old "Empire Builder" train that Great Northern for years, until the BN merger. Santa Fe ran a few long distance trains that also disappeared with the advent of Amtrak too.

Uke the AMTK Empire Builder still one the most popular long-distance trains in America. Fighting its way across
the northern tier through the worst winter conditions and 2200 miles of single track mainline for the most part.
Thanks to the Skykomish webcam I can watch eastbound #8 go by on my TV about 6:42PM if on time out of Seattle.
Its counterpart #7 sposed to be in Everett 7-8AM is always 2-10hrs late. The Santa Fe still has the Southwest Chief
which is Chicago to LA and its very popular as well. #3 can be viewed arriving La Plata MO at 7:42PM CST if on time
out of Chicago which is about hardly. #3 can be viewed arriving Flagstaff AZ about 8:30PM AZ time. Then the most
popular is the Coast Starlight that runs from Seattle to LA as that train is long and packed. That follows the SP/UP route
down the coast. Then there is the California Zephyr which does BNSF Chicago to Denver and UP/DRGW Denver to
Salt Lake City and UP/SP across Donner to Oakland/SF. I've ridden them all.
