Looks like an eastbound.

Norfolk Southern Railway train derailed at the north end of Fairgrounds Road at Lucasville, Thursday afternoon.

According to a release from the Scioto County Emergency Management agency, crews were on the scene as two tanker cars were on their side but wefe not leaking.

As a precaution, Valley Fire Department closed down US 23 and the Portsmouth Bypass as a precaution with

assistance of the Ohio Department Of Transportation and Ohio State Highway Patrol.

It was not estimated how long Southern Ohios most traveled highway would be closed but SCEMA advised motorists to use alternate routes around Lucasville for awhile Thursday evening.

As of press time, the cause of, or whether there are any injuries or fatalities from the derailment was not released. A safety worker at the sight, however said he did not believe there were any injuries.

No injuries, or worse. That's good. No hazardous/oil-fuel spilled into lakes, or waterways. And no fires. But messy, and costly clean up.
Seems LAMCO is well prepared for these incidents.

There were two (tu) brothers who worked on the Peavine with that last name. I wonder if there's any connection.

I didn't see anywhere in the comments where anyone pinpointed the fact that was a broken center pin. Red team would call that an off center truck.

This railroading sport has really diminished.

I thought that car was off center, I watched it several times. Yes, Snippy, the old heads on the Route of High Speed Freight Service called it off center, tu.

We left a car on the main one time at a place called Yellow Creek that was off center. It was in a bad way.
