LA PORTE, Ind. -- Several train cars have derailed in the city of La Porte between Fail Road and CR 150 E.
The La Porte County Sheriff's Office says a large number of the 20 cars in the train derailed.
The train was mostly empty, deputies said.
All other train traffic in the area has been halted, so Norfolk Southern crossings east and west of the area may be blocked.
Norfolk Southern personnel are on scene.
CR 150 E at Colonial and 175 E at 350 N are closed due to the train derailment.

Hey, at least they didn't knock those signals down.
Looks like the signal for the left track is aimed up at the overhead bridge the picture was taken from.
(Don't mean that that's not the way it was aimed tho.)
Comparatively the signal for the right side track looks like its aimed way low for under the bridge.
after you look so long ya start to get a headache tho.
Yeah but the #1 thing is what the sheriff said: The La Porte County Sheriff's Office says a large number of the 20 cars in the train derailed.
And how many of the 20 cars actually derailed? Hmmm...
