WYOMISSING, Pa. - The derailment of a freight train has created quite a mess on a busy Norfolk Southern line in Berks County.
At least six rail cars of a Harrisburg-bound train derailed around 9 p.m. Tuesday on the tracks that run between the Wyomissing Family Restaurant and Bakery on Penn Avenue and the Granite Point building off State Hill Road
The cars that derailed were carrying trash, which was strewn across the tracks and around the derailed cars.
No injuries were reported, according to Norfolk Southern.
Heavy equipment has been brought in to clean up the mess. The section of track will also need to be rebuilt.
