New Vitural Railfan cam at Kearney Nebraska

I had to see the UP through Nebraska for myself back in the early 1990's driving Highway 30 from Sydney NE to Grand Island and took

video. What a fun day as I had to pull off somewhere to video the next train all day as they just kept on coming. Triple track mainline

running 80 trains a day. Maybe the busiest stretch of freight railroad in America. Impressed with what appears to be a 55-60MPH speed

past Kearney. I like fast trains and a lot of them. Should be the new "crowd pleaser" for VirtualRailfan as it features an East and West camera.

The west camera may not show up on a search and I notice YouTube changes the url on some videos over time but for right now this is the  West Kearney cam

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yU7vxtiwI6I

The East Kearney Camera will show up in the VirtualRailfan list of current cameras and easy to find for now.

Enjoy.

Thanks. You forgot the URL bracket thingies, so I added 'em in order to view some trains... Kearney NE is a BIG point, and crew change point for long distance trains as well. Kearney is an original point on UP's transcon line.

Kearney is a crew change point? I thought they ran all the way to North Platte.

Okay. I'll buy that, and add another vid to the 'collection' just for the hell of it. No wonder 2LARRCO can't compete with Uncle Pete. The outfit spends more on the latest high-tech, and maintenance shit ta keep their trains moving. Impressive? Yep! UP's doing it right!

Uncle Warren isn't going to like that much.

We already know they spend a lot of money on replacing ditch lightbulbs.

Kearney 100 miles east of North Platte which is only 2hrs away. The coal trains diverge to the Marysville Sub
at Gibbon Jct and may go all the way to Marysville with the North Platte crew. The rest of the traffic goes to
Council Bluffs from North Platte which seems like a long run without a crew change somewhere. That's 283 miles
but on tracks good for 60mph+ with no work enroute. Grand Island the midpoint but I don't think its a crew change point.
