An obscure Northern Minnesota mining railroad that ran from Hoyt Falls to Taconite Harbor since the late 1950's using EMD F9's.
The F9 fleet ran well into the 2000's. Read about this railroad in Trains Magazine and other railroad magazines but it not until
2019 where nearly every video ever shot in on YouTube. The BN Sumas Sub ran 5 F-unit lashups many times until about 1981 or so.
I've heard the sounds of a 5-unit F9's/F7's lashup wound up many times and thankfully I can hear it again thanks to all these Erie Mining
videos. The railroad did add all kinds of 2nd/3rd generation power over the years that is nice to hear good audio reproduction of your
past motive power. The LTV Mining GE's video has some great sound. There is a complete story on this line as it changed names
a couple times but now is "shut" forever. If you have the time YouTube has everything there is on Erie Mining Company and a chance
to listen to your old favorite locomotives wound up.
If you are in a horror movie, you make bad decisions, its what you do.
