...of Trump and this latest distraction, have thought this whole process through. Because the process of impeachment is complicated at best, and a fuckin' nightmare at worse. Most of these 'freshmen' members of Congress, who are calling for Trump to be impeached, are in their very first term, in an institution they know very little about. Do they really understand, or want this impeachment thing of a sitting president on their resume?

I have to admit to wanting Trump ousted by any means possible; Impeached, shot, killed, drug out in chains, the target of an assassin's bullet, or stabbed a la Caesar. Anything at all. But then what? Penice? Who in their right mind would want that weirdo as prez? Not me.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/09/24/opinion/impeach-trump.html

No guarantee, although worth thinkin' about; Maybe ya force Trump ta be reelected by impeaching him? Ya want that? Me, I'd prefer an assassin...

Oh yeah, this is a bit of a read, but take your time it's well worth your time. There are FOUR scenarios that could backfire on those youngsters calling for impeachment. Four distinct scenarios that might push the fat slob into the big chair. Again. Read.

Further thoughts...From

Trump Is Not Well

But if a clinical diagnosis is beyond my own expertise, Trumps psychological impairments are obvious to all who are not willfully blind. On a daily basis we see the presidents chaotic, unstable mind on display. Are we supposed to ignore that?

An analogy may be helpful here. If smoke is coming out from under the hood of your car, if you notice puddles of oil under it, if the engine is overheating and you smell burning oil, you dont have to be a car mechanic to know that something is wrong with your car.

Accepting the reality about Trumps disordered personality is important and even essential. For one thing, it will help us to better react to Trumps freak show.

Even now, almost a thousand days into his presidency, the latest Trump outrage elicits shock and disbelief in people. The reaction is, Can you believe he said that and did this?

To which my response is, Why are you surprised? Its a shock only if the assumption is that were dealing with a psychologically normal human being. Were not. Trump is profoundly compromised, acting just as you would imagine a person with a disordered personality would. Many Americans havent yet come to terms with the fact that we elected as president a man who is deeply damaged, an emotional misfit. But it would be helpful if they did.

Among other things, it would keep us feeling less startled and disoriented, less in a state of constant agitation, less susceptible to provocations. Donald Trump thrives on creating chaos, on gaslighting us, on creating antipathy among Americans, on keeping people on edge and off balance. He wants to dominate our every waking hour. We ought not grant him that power over us.

It might also take some of the edge off the hatred many people feel for Trump. Seeing him for what he isa terribly damaged soul, a broken man, a person with a disordered mindshould not lessen our revulsion at how Trump mistreats others, at his cruelty and dehumanizing actions. Nor should it weaken our resolve to stand up to it. It does complicate the picture just a bit, though, eliciting some pity and sorrow for Trump.

But above all, accepting the truth about Trumps mental state will cause us to take more seriously than we have our democratic duty, which is to prevent a psychologically and morally unfit person from becoming president.

The office is too powerful, and the consequences are too dangerous, to allow a person to become president who views morality only through the prism of whether an action advances his own narrow interests, his own distorted desires, his own twisted impulses. When an individual comes to believe his interests and those of the nation he leads are one and the same, it opens the door to all sorts of moral and constitutional devilry.

Whether or not his disorders are diagnosable, the presidents psychological flaws are all too apparent. They were alarming when he took the oath of office; they are worse now. Every day Donald Trump is president is a day of disgrace. And a day of danger.

You're either behind on your reading or reading way tu much intu things. He's pretty well destroyed Biden while eWarren surges a bit. We really don't know anything about the details of ***rainegate, yet. Who knows, it may be a big nothing -- unprovable in the way that Michael Cohen told us about. He works people Mob style. Nothing concrete, everything circumstantial. That being said, I don't see him completing a run on the ballot next year. He could still do a lot of weird schitt like resigning right before the election, etc.

For my wild conspiracy theory:

Phat Nixon has a deal with Penice. He resigns, gets pardoned of all federal charges, past, present, and future. Then, he goes off tu pasture somewhere un-extraditable before indictments are unsealed. His progeny spend the family "fortune"* to unravel the mass of civil charges and lawsuits against him/them. Meanwhile, we pay the Secret Service tu protect him in somewhere like Malta. Notice I didn't say Russia. That would be tu far-fetched.

Ditto. Trump may have a few mill stashed away (offshore somewhere untouchable by IRS for his escape) although I've always doubted his "I'm very very rich you know. I'm a billionaire. With a capital B, if ya know what that is right?"

Did that win him any votes? Probably not. The question remains, who will he bribe this time? He has paid money to Russians, Saudis, Ukrainians, Turkish officials, Israelis, so where's all the money coming from anyway? It sure ain't Donald's money!

More than likely it's our money. Pilfered through some scam legit looking quasi gov't. agency authorized by the Commander in Chief! Who's gonna call bullshit on that? No Repug would dare question the Commander!

Let's ship a few mill in cash (not big dollar denominations through) Ukraine...

Seems like Dems are eager to pile on the impeachment bus before it it leaves them at the station!

More than 200 lawmakers almost entirely Democrats  are calling to start an impeachment inquiry, the first step in a lengthy and likely divisive process.

There are at least 215 House Democrats who've made public comments advocating at least for starting the impeachment inquiry process, according to a CNN count.

The total number of representatives who have called for an inquiry is 216. (Rep. Justin Amash of Michigan, a former Republican who has since become an independent, has also called for proceedings.)

What you need to know: The number of House Democrats who at least support launching an impeachment inquiry is quickly approaching the 218 votes needed to impeach Trump in the House, though it is unknown if all those who are in favor of an impeachment inquiry will vote to do so.

Trump ain't worried about this latest witch hunt, 'cause he's done 'nothing wrong'! Obviously.

You know that you can move to West Virginia and there's a place that will mostly fit your needs. Just saying. . .

There are two West Virginias for solitude. If you have a Verizon cell, you can move to AT&T West Virginia. If you have an AT&T cell, you can move to Verizon West Virginia.

If you have a Sprint phone, it's like the rest of the country. You can move anywhere and have solitude, not cell service.

I've been to Ansted, Hawk's Nest, anyway. I didn't realize that was Ansted until I just now looked it up. Spent some time at the Fayette County park with a group that my youngest son was involved with in school, three different times I was there. Only public swimming pool in the county or it was then.

I was thinking of this place, though, if you really want some peace and quiet: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Bank,_West_Virginia

Wonder how our carrier works out, Snippy.  I see that they're offering a $55 plan now but it doesn't include the taxes and fees in that price.  I also see the proposed merger is iffy because of some shenanigans on Sprint's part.  Our carrier works in Kermit, kind of, I learned a couple of months ago when I made my way there to see the street my mother was born on.  Not much to see, the houses that were  there in 1927 have all been replaced, I can report that there's two WV state troopers who live on that short street.  I've been there three times, doubtful there'll be a fourth.

I went there whilst enjoying a drive from Charleston on a most beautiful day. Just a few days before CSX had that big Tanker derailment into the Kanawha  (Kuh-naw, you heathen Yanqui carpetbaggers, oops wrong state) River right there at Cabin Creek, I think. Took US 60 to Rupert reminiscing about when that drive from hell was the only way tu go. Got back on I-64 at Sam Black Church for a few miles and took US 219 up through The Quiet Zone, up and over and back down to Staunton (STANT-un for you heathen Yanquis, right State, uh Commonwealth® this time), and back tu resume my trip on 64 another 200 miles.

My favorite sign on 64 is the exit for Rupert-Rainelle/Sam Black Church. You can say that in real live Southren (roopurt/ray---nell) in yo' head and it always sounds funny. That was the end of the interstate for years and years and years.

Been to Monterey, on up the road from Staunton. Mrs. Cy's close school friend married a guy who worked on a dam project there in Highland County, they lived there about three years, way out in nowhere, although they could have been in downtown Monterey and still been nowhere. We visited them a couple of times, once during the Red Team clerical strike, so, over forty-one years ago now.
