After a review of the circumstances of the events of Oct. 30, Norfolk Southern has determined that the employees actions do not warrant dismissal. The employee has been notified of his return to service. We recognize the concerns raised and to underscore our long-standing commitment to the safety and well-being of animals, Norfolk Southern will be making a donation in the amount of $10,000 to an animal welfare organization in the Louisville area.
Upon rescue from the train car, the kitten was rushed by animal ambulance to the ASPCA in Louisville. Here it was found to be infested with the Pink-eyed, purple spotted, pigeon toed carrier flea. Due to the rarity of this flea, and on a hunch by the Veterinarian in Chief, the electron microscope was deployed and it was confirmed the fleas were hosting 3 chambred Amebas in thier assholes. Trouble is that getting enuff fleas to confirm the intruders identity used up all the fleas they had. Its been said that the ViC didn't use proper personal protection clothing and may be infested with the Amebas himself. It will take a week to be sure. Anyone who visited the ASPCA and used the facilitys rest room is asked to monitor thier assholes for deep red circles and explosive Diarreha.
