Definately gotta try again.

Mrs. Cy and I went to the grocery yesterday and it didn't look anything like those wide open spaces.

I usually do my grocery shopping mid-week just after noon when there is 15 shoppers total in the store.
The meat section full of everything and produce too. I went shopping last Wednesday for groceries and
it was ordinaire. Thought I had enough of everything to last 7 days atleast which I did/do but the "stakes"
changed Friday with the presidential announcement and quickly things changed going to the store. I had enough
to not go to the store this weekend but I had nothing else better to do...get a few things more necessary like
bananas, coffee beans, more vodka, more frozen OJ, some meat i.e. whole chicken bodies and ground turkey.
Surprised still parking places in the lot. Inside it was as busy as I've ever seen it. Cruise my buggy to the produce
and notice about 10 bunches of the greenest bananas is all that is left. That's what I was hoping to find since I just
made CCBB a couple days ago but. Should be about a 100 bunches of bananas and there was 10 left. I grabbed
the last 5lb bag of red potatoes and the display they were on is now bare. I moved to the meats and the chicken
and turkey gone...just an empty space where it should be. Only thing left was organic whole body chickens with a
todays expiration selling for $17-18 a piece. I left without buying any meat as I have enough on hand for now.
I'm +18 rolls of TP so I dint checkout that isle of the store. So for my community I'd say some panic buying going on.
I dint bother going to the other store in town where I'm sure it was even more intense.

Our store was out of nearly every type of vegetable, except greens and oranges. I randomly bout a pack of boneless thighs a couple days ago, lucky me cause there wasn't anything chicken related in the store today. They have large packs of 80/20 hamburger meat, I passed on that, so did everyone else. Hopefully those corned beef briskets that no one buys go on sale after St Patrick's day.

Yeah, my wife asked what do you even do with those? I was like, I'm sure it involves onions, potatoes and a crock pot.

They've got panicked hoarders in Canuckistan? I thought everyone there is well mannered, so polite, and sharing. Now I need to reset my mind.

I went to Walmart. I was empty as in like there wasn't any people. First time I've not used the self checkout at a Walmart in a while. They were still out of alot of things, but like I thought.....in a couple days the shelves will fill back up and we will set in for the great recession of 2020.

I mentioned my last Saturday shopping for groceries now I'm mentioning my Tuesday (3 days later) shopping for groceries.
Actually my grocery shopping right now is to find some chicken and ground turkey. Pushed my buggy right to the meats section
and same thing...no chicken no turkey. In its place was many 3lb corned beef briskets wrapped in plastic ready to heat and serve.
That doesn't help me. Manage to think of other things to buy while I was there (more vodka) and some specialty items. Means
I gotta go to the other store in search of meat/chicken/turkey. Same situation...nada. But I did overhear a conversation between
a customer and the guy behind the meat counter that you gotta get here very early in the morning to see chicken/turkey as
they only can get so much and when its gone its gone. FUCK! But I remembered this store carried these frozen salmon pieces
with different seasonings. 2 5oz servings in a box. Thaw and bake in oven. Real salmon dinner for $8. I bought 4 so it gives more
time for chicken and ground turkey to become available again (after noon). Also worth mentioning is the open 24hrs stores are
now closing at 01:00-04:00hrs to try to restock the store which still has many empty shelves. As you would expect the grocery
warehouses all way behind and some items just not available now. The latest now with some grocery stores in WA is offering-up
a time for people over 60yrs and older to shop (07:00-09:00hrs) with fewer worries of bumping into someone sick. I guess they
kick all the young people out for a couple hours. Sounds like a chance to find chicken and ground turkey. Too bad those hours of
the day is the last hours of my night sleep. Just saying its slow going finding fresh chicken and ground turkey now. I think I would
advise to continue to shop for groceries every couple days stocking up on the things you use/like to eat. Stocking up on things
means extra money to lay out. Stocking up on vices can be real spendy. It appears the current plan is to keep grocery stores open
through this but as we have seen so far things can change in a minute. Also think about your pets/pet food or extra black oil sunflower
seeds/birdfeed/peanuts.
