MOSELLE, Miss. (WDAM) - A train has been derailed near Hood Street between U.S. Highway 11

and Moselle Road Wednesday morning. MOSELLE, Miss. (WDAM) - According to Jones County Fire Council

spokesperson Dana Bumgardner, there are reports that there is a rail car that is blocking a section of Sellers Road

near the area. Residents are urged to use extreme caution as multiple agencies are on the scene and working to

clear the area. Do not travel in or near the area.

I find it hard to believe that there is a switch located near this derailment. Certainly a rarity when investigating derailments. /s

OTOH, since there was apparently no collision, would those be two mid-train DPs, as in we couple tu trains together and ran with it? "Double that there oil cans thing over tu the multi-million car train thing and GTFO."

I starting to get the sense that DP is meant to be tacked in the rear of coal trains as they ran across the prairies, not 200 car mixed freights in rolling hills. But what do I know.

Also, now everyone wants to put the train in otto as soon as possible, so when it tears itself apart it's not on them.....especially if it's DP.

Sure seems like they're stacking them up everywhere, Amherst, Seven Mile, and now Moselle, and maybe a couple more. Makes one wonder how economical running ginormous trains really is?

And that's just LAMCO.

 and those are just the ones that make the news.  I notice they don't do the "chief said it's ok" line anymore.
