BNSF oil train derailment at Custer WA
Permalink

Tuesday afternoon in the sleepy town of Custer WA a loaded BNSF Bakken Crude oil train derailed 8 cars/loads and 2 caught fire.

This oil train once it gets to Custer needs to take the South Leg of the Intalco Wye to enter the BNSF Cherry Point Sub which

is done at 10mph max. This derailment had to be a slow motion one as speed not a factor. Know BNSF has beefed up the trackage

at Custer and Intalco to handle the oil trains. Just happens this oil train derailment with Mars square Pluto nearly exact.

TO going through fund drive warning.

When you  pull out from StreetView, in Satellite view, there is a zoom level that has an oil train moving through there. If this lynx works, then you'll see what I mean.

Ya, I noticed that. There already is a whole train back on the unloading loop.

That is one big place back in there.

Watching the TV news for latest developments on the BNSF Custer WA oil train derailment and nothing new.
Calvin confirms the train doing 10mph and what I needed to know was the 2+2 motive power arrangement.
The oil trains can be 3+1 or 2+2. Somebody on TO mentions a crossover switch at Custer that might
be where it all started. Speculation a "sharp flange picked the switch". I was thinking what made these cars
"crumple with enough force to rupture a couple tankcars" going 10mph was the rear DPU's kept shoving which
would be controlled by the lead locomotive which may not have known whats going on way back there until
the air went. An incident with the CN DPU's going through the Detroit tunnel losing communication and pushing
the rear of the train into a bigger derailment. Has to be issues with the DPU's in the derailment at Custer.
2 days with no cause of the derailment announced on TV yet means the "sabotage" still being investigated.
It could be with Mars square Pluto. Those dames that got arrested for placing shunts have to be working for somebody
and somebody had a hand in it. We all await. In the meantime the BNSF Bellingham Sub at MP 111 trying for a 4am
Thursday and get some trains moving again.
