Yeah, it probably stung a bit. Heck, they could have done the work, there wasn't any 16 Hour Law yet.

Think they were running for a quit?

#44 was a second class train and did not stop and do the work extra trains did.

The #44 did not have to stop and delay company freight. Restitution to the

Conductors in question 50 cents. The first out conductor on the applicable extra

list on each day in question is paid a 7 day time claim account train not called to do

extra work. Trainmaster Naughtsobrite busted back to crossing guard. The Agent at

Irvington has been directed to DAILY report a switchlist to Mr. Hunt and is remanded

for waiting so long to report. Also Agent is advised all equipment should be parked in

the clear, not on top of a switch.

An "Early Nasty Letter". Working as a clerk on the BN in the 1970's in the Everett Machine Room of clerks
screw-ups happened and the Assistant Agent would issue a "nasty letter" that would go on your work record
if you were the one that screwed up. Fortunately I dint screw-up that much. Just a small collection of "nasty letters"
in 26yrs. Oh yeah there is the letter that I'm fired for being involved in a wildcat strike. Then there is the letter that
I keep my seniority date returning to railroad clerical duties at the bottom of the extra board. I got 5-days on paper
for talking the Boeing Switcher by a red signal with the derails open at the bridge. The Boeing caboose goes on the ground.
The conductor of the Boeing Switcher got 10-days because he's so used to me being correct except for this one night.
