UP Stack train derailed... about 30 cars on the ground. Info limited at this point in time. Perhaps tomorrow will have more pictures and perhaps a reason.

I-10 parallels that old SP main for a long ways through that godforsaken desert. Went across there more than once.

I only been to Lordsburg once in my life in the darkest hours of the night...Amtrak Sunset Limited stop.
I dont remember it.

Stopped in Lordsburg for gas back in the early-mid 70's. There was a SP depot there and a crew setting off, what caught my eye was the brakeman giving a big back up with his cowboy hat. I thought yeah, this is Western railroading.
