Train derails in downtown Harrodsburg

A train has derailed in downtown Harrodsburg. Photos from a Harrodsburg couple show multiple train cars off the tracks. No one was injured in the derailment and no hazardous materials were involved, according to firefighters.Neighbors in the area said they're used to the loud noise of trains passing through town multiple times a day, but this was different."It sounded like a big old giant can crushing and then all you heard was a big boom because it fell over," said Desiree Jeffries.

Police blocked off several roads as the crews worked to clear the tracks.

"Every main street just blocked off, cut off, you can't get through," Lewis said. "No way through in or out."Neighbors said they were told the cleanup could go well into the night.

Yeah, you can see it was nearly stopped and started gaining speed after it flipped over. How did we ever run trains before DP power.

Heh, Snippy still band from The Twitter for being suicidal. I have tu go delete the "...and sent us back out to play in traffic." part, and then do a 12-hour timeout. Not like I can't get in smoother way, though.

~Mother painted us with Mercurochrome and sent us back out tu play in traffic~ more or less

Something sorely evident is the kids walking around and that electrocution hazard laying, unprotected across the street.

( I waited all day to see if someone else would comment, but no one came forth.)

I have timed the reaction to throttle changes for the DP. It usually takes 8 seconds on the screen for an input change.

Makes you is it 8 seconds for the DP to throttle up, or 8 seconds for it to relay back to the screen.  Samething when you go into emergency, it would only takes a couple seconds of the DPs independent being applied to rip the train in half.
