Insisting on one man crews the railroads are. There may be stretches of track in the USA where it could be done. I'm glad I'm 20yrs+ removed from
the payroll so I dont feel the "pinch" but I communicate with several members almost daily/nightly that are in the lead locomotive running trains today.
That includes conductors which they need but wish they dint need. I know the pain of "shrinking of personel". The day BNSF eliminated all clerks jobs
system wide back in 1998 was not good for me. It sorta was as I got $100K for leaving but that was thanks merger agreements. Todays C&E's might
not have merger agreements that give you anything.
