Train derails in Ralls County (wgem.com)

RALLS COUNTY, Mo. (WGEM) -- Some Northern Ralls County, Missouri, roads are closed after a train derailment today.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the derailment happened on Huntington Road where about 33 train cars came off the tracks.

MSHP said they don't know what caused it but Norfolk Southern Train officials are going to assess the incident.

The Highway Patrol says no one was hurt when the train which was loaded with new vehicles derailed.

Maybe the GoneRail showboat lead engine (really probably EMDX or whatever they or GE demonstrators are now) got a knuckle, tu. It's probably just being used to ferry people back and forth. It's amazing how there's pretty obviously a single track-double track switch up by the accordions.

Wait a minute! That's the rear of the train! They were making a trailing point move over that switch! No fool would run a train with auto racks ahead of tanks and grain loads! That's a recipe for disaster!

We were run out of the terminal one time severely overtonnage, ordered to go by the chief and the terminal superintendent. When we stalled, which was inevitable, and made a double about 25 miles one way, leaving a big state highway blocked for a few hours, I foolishly thought someone would hear something. Far as I know, no one ever did. No big deal.

UPDATE

 

Freight Train Carrying Ford F-150 Pickups Derails in Missouri (thedrive.com)

 

Very good drone video by Del Buckman, shows all ya need ta see.

Comments and tag along report on Ford shortage of Pickups and vans.

Newsman seems surprised that the whole train worth of Fords is scrap.

At least they were all on one train, a big train, saving fuel costs and crew costs. We'll keep doing it until we get it right.
