DENVER A BNSF Railway employee was fatally injured while working in a Denver rail yard Wednesday, the railroad said.
The Denver Police Department said the man was hit by a train Wednesday morning at the Globeville rail yard at 3700 North Globeville Road. No other details about the crash have been released.
RCO employee was standing on the platform of the locomotive operating locomotive. Apparently employee wasnt expecting or anticipating the slack to roll in causing him to fall off locomotive into the gauge of the rail. Very sad and tragic incident.
I wonder if NTSB will investigate this one virtually with a Zoom call? Theyve probably already had an organizational call. They stopped sending Go Teams for most fatalities because of the pandemic.

In my minds eye, he had both hands on the box when the slack rolled in.
Not an uncommon stance if I think about it.....of course three points of contact is de rigueur, and the boxes are designed to allow one hand operation when needed.
