DENVER (KDVR) ? A freight train derailed Saturday morning in Denver, with some of the train cars tumbling into the South Platte River.

The BNSF Railway train derailed as it was leaving the Denver rail facility around 7 a.m., according to the company.

NSF said seven empty lumber derailed, and three of the cars ended up in the South Platte River. The cause is under investigation.

Once again in the middle/beginning/or end of the derailment is an empty center beam flatcar. The members
of TO seem pretty sure that the misplacement of empty centerbeam flatcars in the train consist happens
everyday. Maybe the insurance companies of the railroads send some guidance on how to safely move these
empty centerbeams around. Cant put them on the point. Cant put them mid-train near a DPU. Cant put them
at the rear next to DPU.

Ive watched empty centerbeams in my own yard come off the rail in switching, you only have to see whats behind them when they come to a stop with nothing but independent brake, that everything behind them wants to keep going!
