I thought I had it bad with the heater kicking back on every 10mins.
I plugged up the fire place with blankets and closed off the front bedroom (it's 40 in there now (she has a thermometer on her alarm clock). Since the wind stopped the main heating unit has went back to normal. I also dusted off the oil heater, I don't think that made a difference.

We use those Mr Heater's in hunting season & they burn up those propane bottles like mad. We're going to figure out how to connect it to a 25lb bottle for next year. Also, I learned the hard way those heaters don't work over a certain elevation. It was in the manual I never read.
Yeah, the old-fashioned way. It'll silently donate up to 9.6 kW using truck 120V/240V receptacles or the optional home power inverter. I don't need that much power, wood supplies the heat. So, I use one 30 Amp extension cord that plugs into the 30A 240V receptacle in the bed of the truck. I run it into the middle of the house and plug in a 4x standard 20A/120V splitter into the receptacle on the extension cord. That gets me 7.2 kW, enough to run the heat pump water heater (it's way under 1000W in heat pump only mode), the blower, and all the lights and electronics I need. On top of everything else, silent power is true sine-wave clean power, unlike many generators. I've got a 12,000 BTU mini-split that runs on 120V and consumes about 750W continuous, if I'd just install the thing.
The whole load would be less that 2kW, 1kW continuous with a heat pump running, lasting a silent 3-10 days. If I had to, I can unplug and go charge up and import power from a fast charger down the street at the rate of 30¢ a kilowatt-hour. We were out for three hours on Xmus Heave for a transformer blowout. All I did was kind of prove the concept with a couple of those electric oil heaters and the refrigerator and a UPS for the TeeVee and audio. If it ever gets bad enough long enough, I know I can run the well pump on the 240V and use the truck's 2.4kW of additional power with regular extension cords.
Guys, ( Or however you may identify )
The Mr.buddy heater assortments are a game changer.
Have used different models of them for years, and pretty much trouble free. Work great with a larger cylinder of choice.
Just be cautious when using an after market hose assembly. The hose usually has some sort of oil used in manufacturing that collects inside said hose and will cause burning/ignition problems.
Mr. Heater makes a filter between hose and heater that helps alleviate some of this.
Some good info on YouTube.
I found out my wood stove in the living room with a good fire going and its available space to sit a pan and a pot atop.
Can boil water and make coffee or boil up some spuds. Cook burgers in a frying pan. This is great for winter power
outages when you got a fire going most the time. I went without power for 52hrs a month ago during cold weather
and the one thing I could do is stay warm and do some cooking. Entertainment is void of course.
