Aint this a swell bunch of coconuts. WB MRL manifest train crossing the Yellowstone River west of Laurel MT and 2-spans of the bridge collapses

and "tank cars sitting in the river". As luck would have its just asphalt and sulphur which arent leaking. Thats the only good luck in all this.

Going to be a BNSF re-routing nightmare. The line from Laurel to Great Falls to Shelby will have to handle some of this detour traffic but

no train crews or not many. All the coal traffic going to the GPNW/Roberts Bank BC daily (roughly 3lds plus 3 empties) or 6 huge trains

a day going to find a new way. There are plenty of other trains too that use the MRL Laurel to Spokane. Dont think this bridge be fixed as

fast as I-95 in Philly.

Also BNSF news a tornado hit the Antelope Coal Mine in WY turning over coal hoppers.

BNSF arrangements with UP for some re-routes. BNSF traffic from Texas and the Boeing trains will go UP for a while.
The Chehalis WA OS Sheet had no coal or oil trains going north Monday. First sign of the "ripple" from the MRL Bridge
collapse. Biggest challenge is to find enough train crews to do all the detours. Detours to where there is no crew base.

Additional casualty to the bridge collapse is it wiped out internet to western Montana. The Verizon main cable used the
bridge to get across. On the detour front BNSF sending empty coal trains to Portland OR where they return to "coal country"
via the UP. Looking at the Chehalis WA OS sheet for Tuesday it was obvious that coal and oil trains were trying to make-up
for being late. 5 coal trains and 3 oil trains passed north through Chehalis after none passed Monday.

Good news...the bridge fixed and trains rolling again on the MRL on July 22nd. Pretty speedy repair.
The end of detours will make MRL/BNSF happy.
