Remembering back three years ago to Oso, and the landslide that killed 43, and virtually wiped the town off the map.

With the Oso Disaster fresh in memory, state officials are scrambling over the latest potential disaster, trying to find the best solution to a probable disaster. State and federal officials have decided to evacuate damn near everybody within the area near the ridge,

I had to double check my Washington Atlas and Gazetteer to see that the UP tracks follow
closely to I-82 and in direct "path" of a mega slide. The BNSF also has a line that parallels
the UP line along I-82. BNSF's Stampede Subdivision runs on the other side of the river and
should be spared any damage. But if the UP/BNSF line along I-82 gets wiped out I'm sure
the BNSF Stampede Subdiv will be able to handle detour traffic. Perfect time for it to happen
the pending mega-slide as the Sun is conjunct Mercury/Venus/Pluto celestial influence is at max.
